Pat Murphy Joins Grant Thornton Forensic, Investigative Division

Grant thornton logoPat Murphy, a former FBI supervisor and special agent, has been appointed a director for the forensic, investigative and dispute services practice of Grant Thornton LLP.

He will work in a Chicago office to facilitate programs that aim to help clients prevent various business risks that can harm profit, reputation and organizational structures, Grant Thornton said Monday.

The 25-year veteran most recently served as public corruption coordinator for the FBI’s Chicago office and helped lead an investigation that led to the conviction of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and 14 other people.

Murphy has also performed international policing duties to support the causes of different federal organizations and help solve high-profile cases.

Murphy is a recipient of the FBI Director’s Award for Outstanding Investigation and the U.S. Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service, as well as other honors and commendation letters from the FBI.
